Brass in Concert 2026 band line up revealed

🗣️ Brass in Concert brings world-class lineup to The Glasshouse

The Brass in Concert Championships, working in partnership with principal partner World of Brass and headline sponsors Yamaha and Banks Group, is back for 2026 with an unmissable weekend of top-tier performances at The Glasshouse International Centre for Music.

The 49th Brass in Concert Championship

Saturday’s Championship will see eleven bands take to the iconic Sage One stage, each offering a uniquely crafted performance devised to entertain. Among them are reigning champions the cooperation band, the 2025 National Champions of Great Britain Desford Colliery, and Hepworth Band returning to Brass in Concert after 18 years, after recent success of becoming Yorkshire Regional Champions. Tertnes Brass from Norway also make their Brass in Concert debut, qualifying from their 2025 performance at the Siddis Brass entertainment contest. The competing bands are:

Aldbourne Band, Brighouse and Rastrick, The cooperation band, The Cory Band Desford Colliery, Foden's, Flowers, GUS, Hepworth, Tertnes Brass and Tredegar.

The 6th Youth Brass in Concert Championship

Building on its popularity since its return in 2024, on Sunday 15 November the spotlight will shift to the next generation of brass musicians with Youth Brass in Concert. Eight outstanding youth bands, all brass stars of the future, will showcase their talents:

Elland Youth Band, Hampshire County Youth Band, Houghton Area Youth Brass Band, Lancashire Youth Brass Band, Lions Youth Band, Shepherd Youth Band, Wardle Youth Brass Band, Youth Brass 2000.

Hampshire County Youth Band will make their debut at the contest after finishing third in the Yamaha Championship Section at this year’s National Youth Brass Band Championships of Great Britain (Youth Champs).

Brass. As good as it gets!

Nigel Stevens, CEO of Brass in Concert, shared his excitement for this year’s Championships: “We’re absolutely thrilled with the calibre of bands competing this year - it’s a lineup that really showcases the very best of brass banding, both here in the UK and internationally. From established champions to exciting new contenders, audiences can expect creativity, entertainment and world class music-making at every turn.

We’re equally proud of the Youth Brass in Concert Championships, which continue to grow year on year and provide a vital platform for the next generation of players to perform on a national stage.

There’s nothing quite like being in the room and experiencing the Championships live - you'll want to be there to soak up the atmosphere and see these incredible performances first-hand.”

Order of play

In keeping with tradition, the draw for order of performances will occur at this year’s European Brass Band Championships, taking place over the weekend of 24-26th April in Linz, Austria. The draw will be livestreamed on the World of Brass wobplay platform.
