Penultimate position for GUS today.

Really big opening, that dies off instantly.

Cornet and Euphonium duet has a small clip on the first note and the top note, however these do not take away the classy performance style of this solo work.

First section moves with some pace, a great sound from the band. Trombones really tank this out. The contrast in dynamics and style is very evident and is executed beautifully. Some classy Flugel playing in the solo.

Solos that follow are all executed well. Bravo.

Next section is very tight together very impressive work as an ensemble from GUS.

Ramp up the dynamics, and some great lower brass sounds, followed by some great upper band playing.

Some great sound coming from the band, Soprano just shining through. The effects are perfect and are the best Iโ€™ve heard today.

Off-Stage works well perfect PC cadenza which is well joined by the rest of the ensemble. Tuning suffers unfortunately due to the mutes.

Euphonium cadenza is exciting with dynamic contrast. Played perfectly. Duet is one of the best today. Bravo both.

Trombones remind us of the tune, such power involved!

Impressive sound from the band.

Effects are constantly working well, Iโ€™m really enjoying this performance.

Wall of sound hits and then instantly has disappeared, the band really understands this piece and it is evident to see.

A couple of clipped notes leading into the main theme.

There is some power behind the Base Trombone here today.

Beautiful Tenor Horn rising over the top, and excellently taken over by the Trombone section.

Some superb Soprano playing, without doubt this is one of the best players in the world currently on this instrument.

A big shaky in some of the solo work in this section but recovers well and this doesnโ€™t distract from the great playing going on throughout the band.

Flowing melody to follow and once again this is performed with such musicality. A couple slips in intonation when loud but apart from these this is such an amazing sounding band showing why they are the Midlands Champions.

Very loud ending but this is an amazing performance.

Bravo.

Big sound for opening chords, not always together on entrance though unfortunately.

Cornet and Euphonium duet is lovely, a couple of clips but top note is perfect from both. Bravo.

Nice Trombone sound in first section. Beautiful Flugel solo sound, easy to listen to and played beautifully.

A slight mistiming error, but flows nicely into next section.

Section goes well with great contrast in dynamics.

Effects work well, Iโ€™d like a bit more of an exaggeration with them personally however this doesnโ€™t take away from the fact they work.

Nice crescendo work into a full band sound.

Effects carry on working well, a small mistiming error but this does not affect the lead into the Off-Stage cadenza.

This works well, a couple of small clips but nothing major and this works well. Bravo all.

Euphonium taking over, cadenza is performed very well. Definitely up there with the best today. Duet is good, a couple clips during but navigated through well.

Dynamic contrast works well. Some of the semi-quaver runs arenโ€™t quite together but the majority are.

Some good percussion, that help hold the band in shape before leading into the quieter lead up to the main theme.

Full band sound is really good, rich in colour.

Main theme starts well, the occasional clipped note but this does not detract from the performance.

Some lovely Tenor Horn playing before being taken over by the Trombone. Unfortunately parts of this struggle to stay together and lack the punch I believe this needs. Good ending to this section.

Solos work well and are played beautifully by all involved. Bravo to all.

Opens into the lovely final tune which is being belted out beautifully.

Crescendos beautifully to the end of the piece and a fantastic final chord. Bravo.

Nice sound for opening chords.

Cornet and Euphonium duet works well an unfortunate split on the top note.

First section really shows off the dynamic contrast, some great Trombone sounds.

Great Soprano playing, leading into the Flugel solo which is beautifully played. Soloists that join play well, a few clips on notes donโ€™t detract too much from performance.

Unfortunately thereโ€™s a few splits in this section but besides them this is very tight playing.

Some super Xylo playing.

Big sound made moving into the next section.

Off-Stage cadenza works well, very clean and ensemble joins well. A great effort at this. Euphonium takes over and plays cadenza very well. Duet works very well, just a small clip on the top note.

Trombones come in and remind us of the central tune very nicely. Tight work on the Semi-Quaver passages, before leading into a huge wall of sound. Great full band sound.

A nice build up of sound from Whitburn before dying away completely.

A small clip before the main theme unfortunately.

Bass Trombone is really tanking this out, sounding really good in this section.

Tenor Horn soar over the top, and then taken over by the Trombone section. Still in awe of the Bass Trombone.

Some unfortunate splits in Upper band, but flows nicely into next section.

Solo work is beautiful, a few minor clips here and there but once again nothing that detracts from the playing.

Lovely flowing melody sounds so rich from the band and tune is so fruitful.

Great dynamic to lead us to the end of the piece.

A lovely final chord. A great effort from Whitburn one they can be proud of. Bravo.

A strong opening from Milnrow, with some impressive full band sound.

Cornet and euph cadenza work well together, and Trombs have an excellent sound following this.

Good sop and front row interjections through, and flugel comes across with a lovely sound.

Bass Tromb leads well, and the transition into the group soloist cadenza is class. Well done all soloists, great work.

Trombs!! You know which bit Iโ€™m talking about what a sound!!

Semiquaver section is full of drive and pace, and the band really pushed forward in this section.

Main theme is impressive, lower band make such a good collective sound, and the sound is of one section.

Back row sound comes across really well, and weโ€™re getting a lot of good balance.

Final push now, and itโ€™s filled with such warm sounds from all over the band, what an ending!! Well done guys, what a performance.

Camborne Town - Band 15

๐Ÿ•’ May 03, 2026 at 04:50 PM | ๐Ÿ‘ค SammyHornEdwards

Big starting chords, hit with a wall of sound, before disappearing completely. Cornet and Euphonium works well, an unfortunate split on the top note however this doesnโ€™t detract from the other lovely playing.

First section sounds so full but not at all over blown.

Flugel solo takes a small clip but then settles into a beautiful sound for their solo. Bravo.

Soloists all shine beautifully very clean playing.

Next section is tight together, with some lovely Sop playing.

Trombone sound is great, really supporting sound.

Effects from the Cornets could be slightly more exaggerated in my opinion however they do still work.

Next section just flows so easily.

Slightly mistimed parts unfortunately, but soon resolved.

Off-Stage works well, a small clip from PC. But works well overall.

Unfortunately tuning suffers slightly due to the mutes.

Euphonium takes over and performs cadenza beautifully. Duet is very nice a couple clips, but overall very solid. Bravo.

Trombone section is so powerful yet it sounds so controlled a testament to the ability on display from Camborne.

A tad untidy at points in this section however itโ€™s resolved very quick. Nice volume before we lead into the main theme.

Thereโ€™s some weight behind this, this feels close to the original.

Tenor Horns are very good for their tune. Bass Trombone is really hammering in these notes (Iโ€™m enjoying!)

A couple splits but a great end to this section.

Soloists are really shining in this section with ability and style during their solo lines.

What a lovely passage this is, and Camborne are really expressing emotion into the playing.

Beautifully balanced band during this section and a full sound for the final tune. Massive crescendo as we build to the end.

A lovely last chord to end the performance. Well done all. Bravo.

Nice start to the piece, before quickly dying.

Cornet and Euphonium duet is perfect, not many have had no clips or splits. Well done both.

Nice strong first section before being taken over by Flugel. Lovely tone from the soloist. Joined well by other soloists.

A very clean performance so far.

A good contrast in dynamics being shown really helps to add to the effects the performance requires.

Transitions smoothly into the next section. Nice tight playing throughout the band.

Off-Stage cadenza is once again performed without split or clip. Well done PC. Ensemble works well, just a small intonation issue at the end.

Euphonium takes over and performs cadenza very well. Duet works well mostly, a few clips and splits unfortunately but a valiant attempt.

A nice transition into the Semi-Quaver runs which are for the majority of the time very together. A small misfire in a gap but moved past very quick. Great sound being made by the band.

Main theme works well, good powerful lower end of the band. Tenor Horns do a great job before Trombones take over.

Some nice playing a few clips here and there but have no real impact on the piece.

Soloist are playing beautifully and the band is supporting them very well. A couple splits creep in unfortunately but these donโ€™t take away anything from the beautiful playing that is going on.

Lovely lyrical playing on display by Ratby - something they should be very proud of is the quality of sound they are making.

A huge wall of sound in the build up to the end of the piece, this has been such an enjoyable performance to listen to. And a great final chord. Bravo to all.

Small delay as thereโ€™s been a speaker fault. But once we get under way the band produces a great opening sound.

Dynamic contrast has been a big thing across the day and this is no different.

Cornet and Euphonium duet is lovely, a couple clips but overall well navigated, to mention they are sat next to each other, which is nice to see.

Bass Trombone is cutting through very well. A few splits in this unfortunately but quickly sorted out.

Flugel creates a lovely lyrical tone. A couple clips by soloists unfortunately do divert attention away from the playing.

Next section is well played through very tight runs throughout the band. Soprano does a nice job.

Good sound produced by the band, maybe lower brass a tad wooly on articulation leading into the next section.

Off-Stage works well, PC leads into it well a small clip but nothing major and ensemble works very well. Bravo all.

Euphonium takes over, a small clip but nice. Duet works well, unfortunate the last note dips off and then returns but overall a great effort. Trombone section reminding everyone they are the loudest in the band and for good reason!

Semi-Quavers are tight throughout the band and percussion. Leading to a massive wall of sound that dies out beautifully.

Main theme is probably the slowest of the day so far. It really gives it a lot of weight. A couple splits in upper band but these are not major. Tenor Horns vey secure and soar over the band. Trombones letting their presence be known. Very powerful tune itโ€™s great.

The tempo makes this sound menacing which I prefer. A couple Sop splits unfortunately but recovers well to end the section very strong. PC solo is beautiful. Soprano takes over and just soars over the top beautifully. Bravo.

Solo work is just so beautiful and Riverside havenโ€™t disappointed one bit.

Flowing melody is lovely, I think it couldโ€™ve flowed across the band slightly more personally. The sound the band is making is such an easy one to listen to. Huge sound for the lead up to the end chord. What a great last chord, well done. Bravo.

A band that means a lot to me coming up now, hoping to add to their results in this section from the last years.

Nice opening chords, well controlled before dying down into the Cornet and Euphonium duet. This works really well and is performed impeccably. Bravo both.

First section is a nice controlled tempo. Trombones come through well. A couple clips of notes but these do not detract from the performance. Flugel controls really well. Repiano player well done, great supporting.

Next section is nice and tidy throughout.

Transition works well, and efforts come off very well.

A few splits creep in but have no real impact on performance. Nice Bass Trombone notes coming through.

An unfortunate split but the next section has really ramped up the intensity. A very exciting performance so far.

Off-Stage works well, very clean PC cadenza before being joined. A tad untidy towards the end of it but overall well done to all.

Euphonium is very nice, clean throughout and has a good dynamic contrast. Duet works, a tad untidy at points and a couple clips but navigated well.

Good Trombone sound, just watch intonation in your section.

Tidy Semi-Quaver work throughout the band. Nice full sound which shows off their contrast the next bar. A couple moments of intonation struggle but very minimal.

Main Theme has some nice power behind but remains controlled and not too in your face. Tenor Horns good, did feel a tad nervous to start but got into it. Trombones really hammer it which helps. Soprano rises through. Bravo.

Some lovely work from the soloists, a couple clips here and there but nothing that detracts too much from the music. Soprano creates a lovely sound throughout this with some difficult entrance navigated really well.

Flowing melody transfers from one part of the band to the other seamlessly. Takes a couple bars but once settled the soaring melody is beautiful to listen to. Rep comes through well once again. Crescendo is effective to set up towards the end. A beautiful final chord and Iโ€™m a very relieved listener. Well done all. Bravo.

๐Ÿ•’ May 03, 2026 at 03:15 PM | ๐Ÿ‘ค SammyHornEdwards

Welcome back everyone, to kick off the second half we have Rothwell Temperance band.

Very loud opening chords, but dynamically contrasted straight away. Cornet and Euphonium duet is lovely, a couple clips of notes but these do not detract from the wonderful playing. Bravo.

This is a great first section, a tad untidy towards the end but quickly into the flow with a lovely Flugel solo.

Very tight playing from the band in this section with an excellent use of dynamics to contrast different. Soprano shines over the top very nicely.

They are really showing off their dynamics and technical ability here, this is very clean so far.

Off-Stage works well beautiful playing from PC and all involved. Bravo.

Euphonium takes over and this is very classy playing. Duet is practically perfect wow. Well done both.

Technical parts are remaining accurate and together, the band definitely knows how to fit in with each other.

A huge wall of sound, before once again dying off to leave the Euphonium before once again building back up.

Main theme starts slightly out of time however sorts itself almost instantly. A couple clips here and there but they donโ€™t distract. Tenor Horns soar over the top. Trombones take over very well. Soprano well done, creating a lovely sound.

PC conducts solo with class, a minimal clip does not have any impact of performance.

Beautiful flowing melody, maybe a tad disjointed when Cornets come in, however this also does not take away from the quality of playing.

What a beautiful sound the band is making in this melody, and what a sound they make on build up to the end. Definitely up their with loudest bands today.

Wow! A performance that puts them right in the mix!

Bravo.

๐Ÿ•’ May 03, 2026 at 02:35 PM | ๐Ÿ‘ค SammyHornEdwards

Good opening chords, with lovely dynamic contrast after. Cornet and Euphonium duet works, an unfortunate split of the top note however this doesnโ€™t affect the quality of the rest of it.

A nice launch into the section and this works well as a section, a couple clips along the way but a nice sound.

Flugel takes over and what a lovely sound they make, so easy to listen to.

A small timing error but quickly resolved going into the next section. Showing off beautifully the quiet dynamics of the piece, but then launching into the loud ones well on top of these.

Soprano is sounding good on the solo bars and come across easily to us in the audience. Snare playing is crisp along with the rest of the percussion.

Some lovely effects from the cornets.

Off-Stage cadenza has a few unfortunate splits but overall works well as an ensemble, just a couple struggles with intonation.

Euphonium cadenza is nice, and different from a lot of the others really taking his own spin on it. Duet works very well, balanced and technically accurate throughout. Bravo both.

Good dynamic range on show, keeps the music exciting and the band are managing the tempo well.

Some nice lyrical playing and accompaniment, just a struggle with intonation occasionally.

Main theme starts off and itโ€™s definitely faster than most if not all so far. Again however, it is nice for a change and does work well. Tenor Horns ring over the top beautifully and Trombones then take over the phrase very nicely.

Some nice sound being created by the band as we build to the end of the main theme.

Some beautiful solo work across the instruments in this flowing section, bravo to all itโ€™s a joy to hear how each player has their own style.

Elland continue to show their lyrical abilities with a beautiful flowing melody across the band.

Speeding up towards the end, the sound is massive yet remains well controlled. And a beautiful last chord to end the half

City of Bradford - Band 9

Nice opening, full sound. A bit of a rocky moment but quickly sorted. Cornet and Euphonium take over and this is a perfect duet, no clips very clean and tidy. Bravo.

Nice Trombone sound, a few nervous moments where the band is not fully together however these are resolved quickly. Some beautiful Flugel playing and is then joined by some lovely Solo playing throughout.

Some nice easy playing throughout this by the band, which is followed by some beautiful dynamic contrast. An unfortunate split note but transitions nicely into the next section. The band is making the most of the effects written in the music and these are executed beautifully.

Off-Stage cadenza has a clip but very well played PC. Unfortunately the tuning has suffered due to the mutes, however the ability of players is high.

Euphonium cadenza is really good, and the duet is equal to that - bravo to both.

What a Bass Trombone sound, proper rich sounds coming out. Semi-Quavers work well, executed well and the snare helps build up the atmosphere. The sound dies and is overtaken by some lovely lyrical playing from the Euphonium and band.

We then move into the main theme.

A slightly slower version of this maybe, but I quite enjoy this. Tenor Horns have a bit of a nervous moment on the way up but quickly regroup and have a lovely sound. Trombones take over, Iโ€™m enjoying the Bass.

Sop soars over, once again very easy to listen to.

A couple of clips of notes in this section, however the band is showing off their ensemble playing beautifully here and they are such a lovely band to listen to.

Some more beautiful flowing playing which transitions through the band freely.

A small timing error in this tune but sorted very quick and didnโ€™t take away the beautiful playing that has been going on. A great sound produced in the build up to the end, and a lovely final chord. Bravo.

Hepworth - Band 8

๐Ÿ•’ May 03, 2026 at 01:45 PM | ๐Ÿ‘ค SammyHornEdwards

High expectations here for the Yorkshire Champions.

Great starting sound which continues until it drops before the duet.

Cornet and Euphonium is executed very well. I think they are the first band to not have a clip or split. Bravo both.

They continue into the first section - what a trombone sound. You can certainly hear them!

This is some top level playing from Hepworth.

Soloists shine through, a couple of clips but nothing that harms the playing quality on display. Extremely tight playing throughout this passage.

A tad wooly in the lower band, just needing some more front for articulation.

What a massive sound they make, seamless in transition with all effects working very well.

Off-Stage works well, PC shining again a perfect solo. What an amazing group of soloists.

Euphonium launches into cadenza, and what a sound he is providing. Duet works perfectly another no clips or splits. The technical accuracy is lovely to see.

Trombones restore their place as the loudest instrument (sorry to all in front of them) but what a sound it is.

The band is like a machine all just ticking along doing what they need, some beautiful technical playing and in time as a band constantly.

First small intonation issue just before we launch into the main theme.

But wow, this is hard to put into words how good this is.

Tenor Horns have a great sound before being taken over by the Trombones. The tune is flowing around the band so easily. Some lovely Soprano playing, a small clip but almost unheard. PC shines once again, a minor clip but this takes nothing away from the ability of this young man. Bravo.

Soprano makes it sound so easy itโ€™s such a joy to listen to.

Euphonium picks up the tune and once again just makes this all sound so easy.

The music is flowing so easily then builds up to a massive dynamic. Building to the end and wow what a chord.

Unbelievable performance from Hepworth showing why theyโ€™re a serious contender. Just wow.

Friary - Band 7

๐Ÿ•’ May 03, 2026 at 01:20 PM | ๐Ÿ‘ค SammyHornEdwards

Nice opening chords, full sounding without being over blown. Cornet and Euphonium duet starts with a slight issue with intonation between each other. A small clip but overall very well played. A nice transition into this section and some tight playing across the band.

Lovely playing from the soloists across the band and well accompanied.

Tight playing once again and great use of dynamic difference to help with effects. Some nice percussion playing, a small slip in timing in the band leading into the next section.

This section is working well and gets going well. Some nice low end brass work on display.

Off-Stage Cadenza has a few splits in the Cornet line but is recovered well. This unfortunately doesnโ€™t always work in this section with a few nervous moments of timing. Valiant effort. Euphonium takes over and beautifully performs cadenza. Duet works well a small split or two but nothing that detracts any attention from the sound created. Bravo.

Trombones are really coming across.

Semi-Quavers work well again and the band is really in time with each other during these passages.

Once again dynamic capability on display never losing quality during these quieter dynamics.

Main theme is well started and joined in by the Cornet Section. Tenor Horns ring out which is then taken over by the Trombones. A very controlled performance in this section.

Soprano rings out above as we move into the next section. Bravo.

Lovely flowing melody. This is a lovely performance to listen to.

I think this must be my favourite part of the piece, such a beautiful melody and Friary are doing it all the justice it deserves. A few clips here and there and a few moments of intonation struggles but this does not detract from the performance. A lovely build up towards the end with a massive final chord. A thoroughly enjoyable performance. Bravo.

Fast opening but chords are well presented.

Lovely dynamic contrast.

Cornet and Euphonium duet is beautiful, a minor split on the top note but this doesnโ€™t detract from the playing.

Great sound from the band in probably the quickest first section so far. A few struggles here and there in this slower section but again very minor to the overall performance. Faster section gets going well and maintains a high level of technical playing, Great sound from the band.

Transition is executed very well. Great Low Brass sound produced.

Off-Stage works well a couple splits during but very enjoyable to listen to these soloists.

Euphonium launches into the cadenza, a small split but classy playing from Soloist. Well accompanied by Second Euphonium. Well played both. Bravo.

Trombone sound once again drilling the tune into the hall.

Some splits throughout the band but overall a great set of ensemble playing. Semi-Quavers work well and are tight throughout. The band is very capable technically and theyโ€™re really showing this off.

Main theme kicks in very well. Nice lean into the phrase something we havenโ€™t had too much off today so far.

Great Tenor Horn sound which is picked up well by the Trombone section. Nice ending to this section.

A few inconsistent notes in this section but some lovely playing across the soloists and ensemble. A few intonation slips at the end of this section but Euphonium once again shines with the melody. Really shining in this hall, what a lovely sound. Big sound in the build up to the final chord. Some timing troubles but recovered in time for a great last chord. Bravo.

All the way from Cornwall, St Dennis will be hoping for another good performance.

Great sound from the opening chords - then drops to nothing. Cornet and Euphonium duet works well, a small clip but nothing major. Not quite together going into the transition but soon resolved. Good Trombone sound and good Cornet playing. An unfortunate split of notes slightly take away from this section however this is beautifully recovered in the next section. Nice Soprano playing and then joined by Flugel.

Some great dynamic contrast on display throughout the band. The effects are prominent in the band and are really effective this is nice to hear done to the limit.

Off-Stage cadenza is one of the most effective heard so far today - a great balance of noise with the mutes in. Just watch the intonation as points with the mutes in.

Euphonium cadenza is executed well a small split in the duet but very well played to both. Bravo.

I really love the Trombone part in this piece and it is played well once again.

This is very fast this section, and unfortunately isnโ€™t always tidy and together but majority of it is.

Massive band sound created before dropping to the limit.

Main theme starts with some lovely Bass Trombone notes. which carry on throughout. A small timing issue but recovered almost instantly. Some lovely Soprano playing here. A couple splits here and there in this section but very minimal attention is drawn to them.

Beautiful full sound created in this melody a small hiccup with timing but very very minimal.

Great build up towards the end and a wonderful final chord. Great performance Bravo all.

Good sound from opening chords which is well contrasted into the Cornet and Euph duet. A small clip but a very nice duet. Well done both.

Great Trombone Section. A couple small clips here and there but nothing the takes any attention away from the quality playing.

Tight playing in this section and then a nice band sound.

Great Soprano playing throughout this.

Off-Stage works well again Bravo all.

Euphonium takes over with a lovely cadenza and is joined by the Second Euphonium. Probably the cleanest of the cadenzas today. Another great Trombone sound. Bass Trombone once again shines with the quality of notes.

Consistently tight playing throughout sections. And a massive wall of sound which is once again beautifully contrasted. This is a really great performance to listen to.

Main theme now and this is flowing really well. A couple of splits here and there.

Great Tenor Horn in their bit of tune.

Beautiful Soprano playing really sounding out in this hall. Soloists shine through again in this section all creating a wonderful sound to listen to.

Sweeping melody is performed beautifully and is easily taken over by the cornets. What an open sound the players are finding for these lovely melodies. They are making this sound effortlessly. Amazing sound to build up to the end and a fantastic final chord. Wow that has all the reason to be up there today. Bravo.

Nice opening chord - maybe not the loudest today but well controlled.

Nice duet between Cornet and Euphonium, an unfortunate split note but well balanced and does not detract any attention from the playing.

Some nice ensemble playing to support the Flugel. Bravo.

Some tight playing in this section, very enjoyable to listen to. A bit jolty into the transition but recovered very well and very quick.

A nice controlled performance dynamically with much contrast still achieved.

โ€™Off-stageโ€ cadenza works but is slightly too quiet due to the mutes in my opinion. Euphonium cadenza is nice, a mis-pitch and a few clips but a valiant attempt by both.

Band really opens up sound here and it is a lovely sound to listen to. Well navigated through this tough section a few moments of untidiness but quickly recovered.

Into the main theme now and it is flowing nicely. A nice Tenor Horn sound followed by a good lower end sound. Bass Trombone can definitely be heard well in this piece.

Nice Soprano playing.

Some nice solo playing once again by all involved.

Sweeping melody shines well.

A couple intonation struggles between octaves but very minimal.

Lovely sound to build up to the end and a lovely final chord. Bravo.

We follow with Ebbw Valley - who will be looking for a good first outing here.

Some nice opening chords, unfortunately not always together.

A lovely duet between Cornet and Euphonium, a very minor clip but nothing that detracted attention.

Nice shock chord sound from cornet section.

Some nice playing and smooth transition. Cornet section tidy and detailed. Some nice dynamic contrast on display. A couple clips here and there but very minor.

A bit muddy in lower brass with articulation but launches into the next section - this is fast.

I like it, itโ€™s works well and the band is showing their technical capability.

Opted to stand at the back of the hall for the โ€˜off-stage cadenzaโ€™. Beautiful Cornet playing to kick this off Bravo.

Works well with a percussionist conducting them.

Nice Euphonium cadenza and well joined by Second Euphonium - very clean playing by both bravo.

Good Trombone sound again. A little slip in timing from the band which is unfortunate. But some great Cornet Section playing.

A small issue with intonation when loud but we now move into the main theme.

A couple splits are unfortunate but well recovered.

I like how much they pull back and then lean into the phrase.

Some nice Tenor Horn playing followed by the Trombone section. Some nice Soprano playing. Flugel creates a wonderful sound to listen to.

Principal Cornet shines again, with another clean solo which is taken over brilliantly by the Soprano.

Some slight timing inconsistencies. But a great build up to the end. A lot to take from this performance and a great first performance. Bravo.

Hello everyone, Iโ€™m delighted to be back writing for todayโ€™s event - thank you Elise.

Kicking us off is the National Champions who will be looking to secure promotion to the British Open.

Great sound on opening chords before quickly dying away.

An unfortunate split during this ensemble section but then launches into a beautiful duet between Cornet and Euphonium.

Into the first variation. Tidy playing all around. Great Trombone sound.

Lovely Flugel playing. Some lovely Soprano playing.

Great ensemble playing very clean and tidy.

Wow. Great Bass Trombone sound to lead into the cornet cadenza.

A small wobble on the top note but classy playing from the Principal Cornet.

The Euphoniums take over and what a great cadenza. Joined by the Second Euphonium a small clip but once again well played.

Great Trombone sound as a section.

Dynamic contrast really on show here.

A couple intonation issues here and there but now we are into the main theme of the piece.

Very clean Soprano playing Bravo.

A few nervous moments here and there for the soloists but navigated well.

What an amazing sound this band creates. Massive final chord. Wow that was special!
